STMicro strikes long-term solar deal for Malaysia chipmaking unit SINGAPORE, Nov 7 (Reuters) - STMicroelectronics STMPA.PA has struck a long-term solar energy deal with joint venture BKH Solar to power its test and assembly site in southern Malaysia, the chipmaker said on Thursday. The 21-year power purchase agreement, which starts in 2025, will enable annual electricity supply of about 50 gigawatt hours (GWh) from BKH Solar's new plant in the north, STMicro said.

Engie reports 11% fall in nine-month earnings PARIS, Nov 7 (Reuters) - French utility Engie ENGIE.PA said on Thursday its nine-month earnings fell 11% from a year earlier, as higher hydropower and renewable energy output failed to fully offset lower income from its gas trading business. The company reported nine-month earnings before interest and tax (EBIT), excluding nuclear, of 7.1 billion euros ($7.63 billion), down from 8 billion euros a year ago.
