UK's ITV tops STOXX 600 on report of M&A interest
** Shares of ITV Plc ITV.L rise as much as 9.5% to 71.75p, stock top pct gainer on the pan-European STOXX 600 index .STOXX
** Potential suitors have again begun circling Britain's biggest terrestrial commercial broadcaster, after a prolonged period of share price weakness and renewed questions about its long-term strategic destiny, reports Sky News
** A number of possible bidders for parts or all of the company have in recent weeks held early-stage discussions about teaming up to pursue a potential transaction, adds the report
** CVC Capital Partners and a major European broadcaster - thought to be France's Groupe TF1 - were among those which had been starting to study the merits of a potential offer for ITV, Sky News report said citing TV industry sources
** Stock set to post best day since March 7, if trend holds
** Currently stock up 7%, taking YTD gains to ~11%
