UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Nov. 26
Nov 26 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.42%.
* BARCLAYS: Barclays BARC.L said it planned to set up a new private banking booking centre in Singapore by 2026 to tap into the city-state's expanding pool of ultra-wealthy clients, financial institutions, and family offices.
* UK SHOP PRICES: Prices in British shops fell less sharply this month, according to a survey from the British Retail Consortium that suggested consumers could face renewed pressure on their spending power.
** UK WIND FARM: Denmark's Orsted ORSTED.CO has launched the sale of a stake in one of the world's biggest wind farms planned off the United Kingdom's coast, Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.
** UK WORKFORCE: Britain's government said it plans to increase access to mental health support and to reform job centres as part of its push to get more people back into the workforce.
* ANTI-SMOKING RULES: British lawmakers will on Tuesday debate and vote on plans to introduce some of the world's strictest anti-smoking rules, including banning younger people from smoking.
* OIL: Oil prices ticked up in early trade after falling in the previous session as investors took stock of a potential ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, weighing on oil's risk premium.
* GOLD: Gold prices held steady after a 3% drop in the previous session, supported by increased safe-haven demand following President-elect Donald Trump's pledge to impose tariffs on all imports from Canada, Mexico and China.
* METALS: Copper prices fell, weighed down by a stronger U.S. dollar and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's pledge to levy more tariffs on Chinese products.
* FTSE 100: The UK's FTSE 100 touched a one-month closing high on Monday, joining a global rally fuelled by Scott Bessent's nomination as U.S. Treasury secretary, while Kingfisher slumped after the home improvement retailer issued a profit warning.
