Turkey - Factors To Watch on Oct 7
ISTANBUL, Oct 7 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Monday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.2725 against the U.S. dollar at 0321 GMT, weakening slightly from a close of 34.2700 on Friday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 2.37% higher at 9,109.34 points on Friday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks rallied and the dollar reached a fresh seven-week peak on the yen on Monday after blowout U.S. labour data dispelled fears of a recession and spurred a sharp paring of rate-cut bets.
ERDOGAN MEETING
President Tayyip Erdogan will chair a meeting of the central executive board of his ruling AK Party. (1100 GMT)
ECONOMIC COORDINATION
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will chair a meeting of the Economic Coordination Board, which will discuss structural measures envisaged in the medium-term programme. (0700 GMT)
TREASURY AUCTIONS
The Ministry of Treasury and Finance will tap four-year TLREF-indexed government bonds due Sept. 6, 2028. It will also directly sell gold-backed lease certificate due Oct. 7, 2026.
TREASURY CASH BALANCE TRCASH=ECI
The Treasury will publish its September cash balance data. (1430 GMT)
LEBANESE FOREIGN MINISTER
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati discussed the latest developments and humanitarian situation in Lebanon in a phone call on Sunday, Turkey's foreign ministry said in a statement.
WHEAT IMPORT BAN
Turkey's flour mills are seeking a relaxation of the country's ban on wheat imports, the mills' association said on Friday.
TRANSPORT MINISTER
Minister of Transport Abdulkadir Uraloglu will hold a press conference at Tuzla International Airport in Bosnia.
MAIN OPPOSITION
Ozgur Ozel, leader of the main opposition CHP, will chair a meeting of the party's central executive board in the southern province of Hatay. (0700 GMT)
