Turkey - Factors To Watch on Nov 15
ANKARA, Nov 15 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.4200 against the U.S. dollar at 0322 GMT, weakening from its close of 34.3540 on Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.29% higher at 9,420.42 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
The U.S. dollar was poised for big weekly gains on Friday, towering near one-year highs as a hawkish turn from the Federal Reserve chief sent short-term Treasury yields higher, leaving Wall Street and European futures in the red.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan will chair his AK Party's central executive committee meeting (1100 GMT).
FINANCE MINISTRY BUDGET
Parliament's planning and budget commission is scheduled to debate the finance ministry's 2025 budget (0700 GMT). Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek will attend the session and respond to questions of MPs.
NORTHERN CYPRUS
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Ozgur Ozel will attend a ceremony in Nicosia to commemorate the founding of the breakaway Turkish northern Cyprus.
BUDGET DATA TRBUD=ECI
The Treasury will announce central government budget data for October (0800 GMT).
CENTRAL BANK SURVEY TRINTM=ECI
The central bank will release its survey of market participants' expectations for the economy (0700 GMT).
QATAR DEALS
Turkey and Qatar signed a series of agreements on Thursday ranging from trade facilitation to military and technical cooperation during Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani's visit to President Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.
EUROFIGHTER PURCHASE
Germany has mandated its sales authority to work on the sale of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets to Turkey after initially being opposed to the move, a Turkish defence ministry source said on Thursday, but added this did not mean the process was concluded.
