Turkey - Factors To Watch on July 23
ISTANBUL, July 23 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Tuesday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 32.8900 against the U.S. dollar at 0225 GMT, after closing at 32.9105 on Monday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.15% higher at 11,172.75 points on Monday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks bounced from one-month lows on Tuesday, with Taiwan's market snapping a five-day losing streak as semiconductor shares took a lead from a Wall Street recovery, while sagging commodity prices weighed on the Aussie dollar.
CENTRAL BANK MEETING TRINT=ECI
The central bank will hold its monthly monetary policy committee meeting and announce its decision on interest rates, which it is expected to hold steady at 50%, maintaining hawkish guidance in the face of inflation still above 71%. (1100 GMT)
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE DATA TRCONC=ECI
The Turkish Statistics Institute will announce consumer confidence data for July. (0700 GMT)
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will chair a meeting of his ruling AK Party's central decision-making and management board. (1200 GMT)
ECONOMIC COORDINATION BOARD
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will chair a meeting of the Economic Coordination Board at the presidential palace. (0600 GMT)
BOND AUCTION
The Treasury will tap a nine-year fixed coupon bond maturing on Oct. 5, 2033. It will also receive bids for a two-year lira-denominated sukuk to banks through the direct sale method.
ERDOGAN ALLY NEWS CONFERENCE
Devlet Bahceli, leader of the government-allied Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), will hold a news conference. (0800 GMT)
PARLIAMENTARY MEETINGS
The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) (1030 GMT) and the pro-Kurdish DEM Party (0945 GMT) will hold their parliamentary group meetings.
