Turkey - Factors To Watch on Dec 20
ANKARA, Dec 20 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 35.1550 against the U.S. dollar at 0500 GMT, after closing at 35.1080 on Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.52% lower at 9,765.12 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares were pinned near three-month lows on Friday as investors awaited key U.S. inflation data that could either ease or worsen concerns about price pressures, while the dollar towered at two-year peaks.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will attend a local meeting of his Ak Party officials in eastern province of Mardin (1300 GMT).
TURKEY-GERMANY
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan hosts his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock for talks.
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE TRCONC=ECI
The Turkish Statistics Institute will announce December consumer confidence index data (0700 GMT).
CENBANK SURVEY
Turkey's central bank will release its monthly survey on market participants' expectations for the economy (0700 GMT).
DEBT STOCK
The Treasury and Finance Ministry will announce November central government debt stock data. (1430 GMT)
FOREIGN ARRIVALS TRTARR=ECI
The tourism ministry will release foreign arrivals data for November (0800 GMT).
SYRIA
Kurdish fighters who came to Syria from around the Middle East to support Syrian Kurdish forces will leave if a ceasefire is reached in the conflict with Turkey in northern Syria, the commander of Syrian Kurdish-led forces told Reuters.
PEGASUS AIRLINES
Boeing BA.N announced its single-largest commercial airplane order of the year on Thursday, when it said Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines PGSUS.IS had placed a firm order for a hundred 737 MAX jetliners. The order includes options for another 100 737 MAX 10 jets.
