Former senior official at China's securities regulator under investigation, says anti-graft watchdog
Update with Guosen Securities' announcement
BEIJING, Nov 20 (Reuters) -Wu Guofang, a former senior official at China's securities regulator, is under investigation for suspected severe violations of law and discipline, China's top anti-graft watchdog said on Wednesday.
Guosen Securities 002736.SZ, where Wu worked as head of its investment banking business, later announced that its board had dismissed Wu as vice president.
Wu is under investigation and being detained by authorities, the company said in a filing to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
In a separate statement, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said Yao Qian, another former official at the China Securities Regulatory Commission, has been expelled from the Chinese Communist Party for violations including "illegally accepting large sums of money and property".
