CHICAGO, Aug 26 (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of Agriculture rated 69% of the country's spring wheat in good-to-excellent condition on Monday, down from 73% last week and the 72% expected by analysts .

The USDA rated 67% of the soy crop and 65% of the corn crop in good-to-excellent condition, both down from the previous week. Corn ratings landed one point below analyst expectations, while soy met expectations.

The conditionratings for the corn crop are thehighest for this time of year since 2018, while soy condition ratings are thehighest since 2020, according to USDA data.

A major crop tour last week projected bumper U.S. corn and soy crops and supported expectations of a global oversupply, which has driven corn and soy futures near four-year lows.

However, a heat wave and lack of rainfall in swathes of the U.S. Midwest this week may damage the soybean crop before it is harvested and has left industry players uncertain about whether the projected record yields will be realized, analysts said.

The USDA reported the spring wheat harvest is 51% complete, beating analyst expectations and up from 31% last week.
