NEW YORK, Aug 15 (Reuters) -Cash differentials for gasoline traded in the Chicago spot market recovered some of their recent losses on Thursday as a seller retreated from the market on the first day of a new trading cycle, traders said.

Trading in Chicago rolled over to the third and final delivery cycle on the regional pipeline network. Chicago CBOB gasoline gained 4 cents on the roll to 18 cents below the RBOB gasoline futures benchmark on the New York Mercantile Exchange, traders said.

Chicago CBOB differentials had slumped for four consecutive sessions before the change as a seller offloaded supplies. They were not in the market on Thursday but could return later on, traders said.

Chicago ultra-low sulfur diesel ULSD-DIFF-MC fell 2 cents to 2 cents a gallon above the ULSD futures benchmark HOc1.

Elsewhere in the Midwest, Group 3 V-grade gasoline RUV-DIFF-G3 fell 2 cents to 10 cents below the benchmark, whereas Group 3 diesel ULSD-DIFF-G3 fell a cent to 2.5 cents below futures.

U.S. Gulf Coast M2 conventional gasoline RU-DIFF-USG rose half a cent to 4.75 cents below gasoline futures, market participants said. A2 CBOB gasoline CBOB-DIFF-USG fell quarter of a cent to 16.25 cents below futures.

Gulf Coast 62-grade ULSD ULSD-DIFF-USG fell 0.40 cents to 8.90 cents below futures.

In New York Harbor, M2 conventional gasoline RU-DIFF-NYH was unchanged at 2.5 cents above futures, traders said. Diesel for delivery in New York Harbor ULSD-DIFF-NYH was also unchanged at 5 cents below futures.

RBOB futures rose 3.69 cents to settle at $2.358 a gallon, whereas ULSD futures rose 0.97 cents to $2.3779.

The U.S. generated more renewable blending credits and slightly fewer biodiesel credits in July versus the month prior, data from the Environmental Protection Agency showed on Thursday.

Renewable fuel (D6) credits RIN-D6-US and biomass-based (D4) credits RIN-D4-US for 2024 traded down from 54 cents each to 52 cents each on Thursday, compared to between 57 cents and 56 cents each earlier, traders said.
