US Cash Grains-Corn basis slips at processing sites, some ethanol plants
CHICAGO, July 17 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn eased at processors, some ethanol plants and a river terminal in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday, spot checks showed.
* The corn basis decreased by 5 cents a bushel each at processing sites Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Blair, Nebraska. Ethanol plants in Linden and Union City, Indiana, lowered basis bids by 2 cents each.
* Large supplies of corn in storage on farms continue to constrain futures prices, a broker said. Farmers have been reluctant to sell due to low prices, though.
* Chicago Board of Trade December corn CZ24 was up 2-1/2 cents at $4.11-1/4 cents a bushel by 12:50 p.m. CDT (1750 GMT) and remains near a 2020 low reached in late June.
