US Cash Grains-Corn basis bids mostly steady to down with futures flat
Nov 27 (Reuters) -Basis bids for corn were mostly steady to lower in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday as futures traded flat and the Thanksgiving holiday approached.
* The corn basis fell 10 cents at an elevator in Blair, Nebraska and 8 cents at another elevator in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
* It fell 3 cents at a river terminal in Davenport, Iowa and 1 cent at another in Morris, Illinois.
* One exception was the river terminal in Toledo, Ohio, where the corn basis rose 10 cents and the soybean basis rose 25 cents.
* Darin Fessler, Senior Hedge Advisor at Lakefront Futures and Options, said demand from Mexico may be underpinning the cash trade in some locations, with buyers trying to stock up before a possible trade war after U.S. President-elect Donald Trump threatened tariffs on imports from Mexico.
* Most-active CBOT March corn CH25 was unchanged at $4.28 per bushel.
* CBOT January soybeans SF25 settled up 5-1/4 cents to $9.88-3/4 a bushel.
