US Cash Grains-Corn and soy basis steady to down, farmers reluctant to sell
CHICAGO, July 17 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn and soy were mostly flat to lower on Wednesday as futures prices bounced off the week's earlier lows, dealers said.
* The uptick in prices was not enough to encourage major farmer selling, they said.
* The corn basis decreased at elevators around Chicago and Blair, Nebraska, and at an Illinois river terminal.
* The soy basis also ticked down at the Illinois river terminal.
* Corn futures firmed while soybeans were mixed, as both markets hovered near their lowest levels since 2020. Generally favorable crop weather in the Midwest hung over the market, capping rallies by bolstering expectations for large U.S. harvests. GRA/
* Most-active corn futures Cv1 ended up 3 cents at $4.11-3/4. Benchmark November soybeans SX24 ended down 2-1/4 cents at $10.41 a bushel.
