Dec 19 (Reuters) -Mars Sour eased after strengthening for four straight sessions to its highest level in more than four years on Thursday, dealers said.

Mars eased more than $2 to a $1.20 premium. Mars has been trending higher in recent days, helped by strong refinery and export demand.

The spread between U.S. West Texas Intermediate and Brent crude narrowed to as much as minus $3.28, its most in three months. A narrower spread between the global benchmark and WTI, particularly under minus $4, typically discourages transatlantic demand.

In an indication of weak export demand, WTI at East Houston WTC-MEH, also known as MEH, traded at an 80 cent premium, the lowest since July. The spread between MEH and WTI Midland also eased to 5 cents.
