Aug 16 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening flat on Friday, with futures FFIc1 largely unchanged.


* INFANT FORMULA MARKET: Britain's antitrust regulator said it wouldnot launch an in-depth study into the supply of infant formula in the country at this stage.

* UK RETAIL SALES: British retail salesedged up in July, boosted in part by extra sales due to the men's Euros soccer championship, official figures showed, after an unusually cool and wet June and depressed spending and weighed on broader economic growth.

* ASTRAZENECA: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved AstraZeneca's AZN.L blockbuster cancer drug, Imfinzi, for the treatment of patients with a type of non-small cell lung cancer on Thursday.

* OIL: Oil prices were set for a second straight week ofgains despite edging lower on Friday, as recent U.S. economic data boosted optimism over demand in the world's top oil consumer.

* GOLD: Gold prices steadied and were headed for a weekly gain on optimism about a U.S. interest rate cut, while traders wait for Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's speech due next week for cues on the size of the cut.

* METALS: Copper prices were set for their first weekly gain in six, buoyed by mine supply worries and encouraging U.S. data that allayed fears of an imminent recession in the world's largest economy.
