MOSCOW, Nov 19 (Reuters) -Russia plans to take 2.42 million metric tons of refining capacity offline in November, up 34% from a previous plan, increasing the amount of crude oil available for export, according to Reuters calculations based on data from industry sources.

A rise in idle capacity means refineries consume less feedstock to produce fuel, making more crude available for export.

Idle oil refining capacity is set to include extensions to technological stoppages and maintenance of some units at the Novoshakhtinsk, Komsomolsk, Novokuibyshev, NORSI and Ufaneftekhim plants.

The offline capacity may rise further during the month due to maintenance and stoppages.

In October, primary offline oil refining capacity in Russia reached 4.56 million tons.

Expected cumulative offline primary oil refining capacity in Russia reached 39.6 million tons in January-November, up 17% from the same period in 2023.
