Front-quarter prices edge down on wet weather view

Sept 18 (Reuters) -Nordic front-quarter power prices edged lower on Wednesday from a one-week peak hit in the last session, pressured by forecasts for wetter weather and lower energy rates across Europe.

* Nordic front-quarter power contract ENOFBLQc1 fell 0.59 euros to 37.41 euros per megawatt hour (MWh)at 0922 GMT.

* "Next week will be generally cloudier and windier with frequent rain across entire Scandinavia. Temperatures will drop to near or below normal and rain amounts will be often above normal," Georg Muller, a meteorologist at LSEG, said in a note.

* Nordic water reserves available 15 days ahead PCAEC00 were seen at 5.82 terawatt hours (TWh) above normal, compared with 4.5 TWh above normal on Tuesday.

* "The market in general appears bearish right now, both because of the well-supplied gas market and demand has not increased yet due to the warm start to autumn in Northern and Central Europe," said Karsten Sander Nielsen, a senior market analyst at Energi Danmark.

* "Following yesterday's events in Lebanon, we see renewed insecurity on the fuel markets which also has an effect on the Nordic power market but it is not enough to prevent falling prices so far today."

* Dutch and British wholesale gas prices were mostly down on Wednesday morning amid stable supply. NG/EU

* Germany's Cal'25 TRDEBYc1, Europe's benchmark contract, fell 0.9 euros to 85.35 euros per MWh.

* Carbon front-year allowances CFI2Zc1 lost 0.53 euros to 63.81 euros a tonne.

* The Nordic power price for next-day physical delivery FXSYSAL=NPX, or system price, fell 11.16 euros to 22.66 euros per MWh.
