CHICAGO, Aug 26 (Reuters) -Snapshot of the global export markets for grains, oilseeds and edible oils as reported by government and private sources as of the end of business on Monday:


EU MAIZE FORECAST CUT: Crop monitoring service MARS cut most of its average grain yield forecasts for the European Union this year, with another sharp reduction for maize as hot weather continues to take a toll on crops in southeast Europe.


BRAZILIAN FARMERS PLANT CORN: Brazilian farmers have started sowing their 2024/25 first corn crop, agribusiness consultancy AgRural said, estimating work in the fields to have reached 4.2% of the projected area in the key center-south region by late last week.


COOKING OIL FINES: China fined state stockpiler Sinograin and six more firms a total of about 11 million yuan ($1.54 million) over the use of fuel tankers to transport cooking oil in a scandal that eroded confidence in food safety regulations, state media reported.


PENDING TENDERS:


CORN, SOYMEAL, BARLEY TENDERS: Algerian state agency ONAB issued international tenders to purchase up to 120,000 metric tons of animal feed corn, 40,000 tons of soymeal, and 35,000 tons of feed barley, European traders said. The deadline for submission of price offers in the tenders was Aug. 21.


WHEAT TENDER: Jordan's state grain buyer issued an international tender to buy up to 120,000 metric tons of milling wheat that can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said. The deadline for submission of price offers is Aug. 27.


BARLEY TENDER: Jordan's state grains buyer issued an international tender to purchase up to 120,000 metric tons of animal feed barley, European traders said. The deadline for submission of price offers is Aug. 28.

RICE TENDER: Indonesian state purchasing agency Bulog issued an international tender to buy about 350,000 metric tons of rice, European traders said. The deadline for submission of price offers is Sept. 3,with price negotiations to follow for several days before a decision.
