Egypt announces new oil discovery in Western Desert, Petroleum Ministry says

CAIRO, Aug 27 (Reuters) -Egypt announced a new oil discovery in its Western Desert, the petroleum ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The discovery, located in Kalabsha development area in the Western Desert, tested 7,165 barrels of oil and 23 million cubic feet of associated petroleum gas per day, according to the statement.
Earlier on Tuesday, Egypt's petroleum ministry announced an international tender seeking bids for natural gas and crude oil exploration in the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile delta, 10 offshore blocks and two onshore blocks.
The North African country had plans to return oil and gas production to normal levels from 2025 with the help of international partners, amid its endeavour to become a regional hub for liquefied natural gas after a string of recent discoveries.
