Argentina exchange trims wheat harvest estimate as rains fail to bring respite

BUENOS AIRES, Oct 9 (Reuters) -The Rosario grains exchange on Wednesday trimmed its estimate for the 2024/25 wheat harvest by almost 5%, citing a lack of rains in key farming areas.
"Despite the recent storms, heavy rains are not arriving and the crop is going through a critical growing period while losing yield potential," the exchange said in its report.
It nowsees wheat production at 19.5 million metric tons, down from a previous estimate of 20.5 million tons.
The exchange maintained its estimates for the corn harvest at between 51 and 52 million tons and the soybean harvest at between 52 and 53 million tons.
