ARA oil product stocks fall, Insights Global data shows
LONDON, Oct 10 (Reuters) -Independently held refined oil products stocks in storage in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) refining and storage hub fell by around 1% in the week to Thursday, data from Dutch consultancy Insights Global showed.
Total inventories reached 6.22 million metric tons by Thursday, the data showed, from 6.29 million tons the previous week.
Gasoil stocks fell by around 5% to 2.31 million tons, their lowest since mid-August, the data showed.
Stocks dipped lower as heating oil demand began to pick up, Lars van Wageningen of Insights Global told Reuters, helping offset a large import flow into Europe this month.
Gasoline inventories meanwhile rose by nearly 13% to around 1.09 million tons.
Exports of gasoline to the Americas picked up slightly on the week, van Wageningen said, but this was offset by a drop in shipments to West Africa.
Fuel oil inventories fell by 10% to 1.24 million tons. The drop was driven by exports of very-low sulphur fuel oil to Singapore, with the arbitrage route from Europe to Asia's bunkering hub having recently opened, van Wageningen added.
The following table shows volumes in thousands of tons:
