- Expedia Group EXPE.O has appointed Scott Schenkel, 56, as its chief financial officer and he is expected to succeed Julie Whalen on Dec. 30.
- Global aerospace company AAR AIR.N agreed to pay over $55 million to resolve corruption-related investigations brought by the U.S. Justice Department and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
- The Walton family is passing some of its control in Walmart WMT.N to the next generation, giving all of the founder's grandchildren voting rights over their inheritance. Eight grandchildren of founder Sam Walton will gain voting rights over the family's holdings, bringing the total number of voting members to 11.
- U.S. federal prosecutors charged Luigi Mangione with murder and stalking on Thursday for the Dec. 4 shooting of the UnitedHealth Group UNH.N executive Brian Thompson, alleging he was arrested with a notebook stating an intent to "wack" the CEO of an insurance company.
- The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a month-long ban on flying drones in parts of New Jersey for security reasons, saying that unmanned aircraft are not allowed to fly over critical infrastructure across swaths of the state.
