US Cash Grains-Corn bids up, soy steady as futures fall
Nov 21 (Reuters) -Basis bids for corn were up and bids for soybeans were steady on Thursday following multiple days of increases while futures fell.
* The corn basis increased at an Illinois processor, Illinois elevator and Ohio rail terminal.
* The wheat basis fell at an Ohio port.
* The USDA reported net export sales of U.S. corn at 1,494,600 tons, on the low end of analyst expectations from 1,000,000 to 2,200,000 tons.
* The USDA reported net export sales of U.S. soybeans at 1,860,600 tons, above analyst expectations of 1,000,000 to 1,600,000 tons.
* Fears that tariffs proposed by the incoming administration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump would spark another trade war with China weighed on futures.
* Beneficial crop weather in South America stoked expectations for large corn and soy harvests, analysts said.
* Most-active December corn CZ24 settled down 3-1/2 cents at $4.26-3/4 per bushel.
* CBOT January soybeans SF25 settled down 12-3/4 to $9.77-3/4 a bushel.
