US Cash Grains-Corn bids mixed, soy steady to higher
CHICAGO, July 1 (Reuters) -Spot basis bids for corn were steady to up at ethanol plants and steady to down at other processors on Monday as buyers assessed the U.S. Department of Agriculture's acreage and quarterly stocks reports.
* The corn basis increased at an ethanol plant in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and decreased at another processor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
* The soybean basis increased at one river terminal in Toledo, Ohio.
* More locations rolled their corn basis to the CBOT September CU24 futures contract and the soy basis to the CBOT August SQ24 futures contract.
* U.S. stocks of corn, soybeans and wheat as of June 1 were higher than the same time last year, with U.S. crop growers storing the most corn on their farms at this point in the year in more than three decades, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said on Friday.
* The USDA estimated corn plantings at 91.5 million acres, above analysts' expectations for 90.4 million. In March, USDA projected farmers would plant 90 million acres.
* Soy plantings were pegged at 86.1 million acres, the USDA said, down from its March estimate for 86.5 million.
