UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Sept. 5
Adds FTSE 100 move, adds new items from bullet 1-6
Sept 5 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index opened down 0.15% on Thursday.
* LLOYD'S OF LONDON: Commercial insurance market Lloyd's of Londonreported a 26% jump in first-half pre-tax profit.
* CURRYS: British electricals retailer CurrysCURY.L reported underlying sales rose 2% over the last four months, putting it on track to grow profit this year.
* ENQUEST: EnQuest reported a profit for the first six months of 2024, from a year-ago loss.
* VISTRY: British homebuilder VistryVTYV.L would buy back shares worth 130 million pounds ($171 million), it said, after posting a 7% rise in half-year earnings.
* ASOS: British online retailer ASOS ASOS.L said itexpects its annual sales to be slightly below its previous forecast, but guided adjusted core profit at the top end of market expectations.
* ASHMORE: Emerging markets-focused investor Ashmore said core markets were demonstrating resilience to shocks, with growth gathering momentum into 2025.
* ROLLS ROYCE:Airbus AIR.PA and Rolls-Royce RR.L are preparing to brief airlines on the fallout from an engine emergency that prompted Cathay Pacific to review its fleet of A350s as pressure from airlines mounts for clarity, two people familiar with the matter said.
* WATER POLLUTION:Britain will on Thursday set out new legislation to stop water companies leaking sewage into rivers and seas by bringing in tougher penalties including imprisonment for bosses, and giving the regulator new powers.
* OIL:Oil was attempting to hold its line in early trade on Thursday.
* GOLD:Gold was little changed on Thursday.
* EX-DIVS:IAG ICAG.L , Antofagasta ANTO.L , Prudential PRU.L , Admiral ADML.L will trade without entitlement to its latest dividend pay-out on Thursday, along with DS Smith SMDS.L, Croda CRDA.L and Greggs GRG.L.
