UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Oct 23
Oct 23 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.08%.
* WATER BILLS: Thames Water and other British water companies have said they need to raise bills by more than they had estimated, blaming new regulatory requirements and investment costs, Ofwat said.
* BP: BP's BP.L head of LNG trading, Jonty Shepard, will be leaving the company at year-end.
* SHEIN: Online retailer Shein's revenue growth slowed to 23% in the first half of this year, from 40% last year, The Information reported.
* WATER UTILITY REVIEW: Britain will on Wednesday launch an independent commission tackling the crisis in its water utility sector after years of under-investment and pollution scandals affecting rivers, lakes and seas.
* NHS: Britain's National Health Service will block Eli Lilly's LLY.N Alzheimer's drug donanemab on Wednesday, deeming it too expensive for NHS patients, the Telegraph reported on Tuesday.
* OIL: Oil prices dipped after industry data showed U.S. crude inventories have swollen more than expected, though declines were capped as the market watched diplomatic efforts in the Middle East after Israel continued attacks on Gaza and Lebanon.
* GOLD: Gold prices surged to a record high as the conflicts in the Middle East and uncertainty surrounding the upcoming U.S. election spurred demand for safe-haven assets.
* London stocks fell on Tuesday, dragged down by weakness in the utility and real estate sector, while investors awaited speeches from Bank of England officials later in the day.
