UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Oct 11
Oct 11 -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Friday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.31%.
* THG: British e-commerce firm THG THG.L said on Thursday that it will proceed with plans to demerge its technology services arm Ingenuity into a standalone independent private entity at an equity valuation of up to 100 million pounds ($130.51 million).
* INVESTMENT MINISTER: Britain on Thursday appointed Poppy Gustafsson, the former CEO of cybersecurity firm Darktrace, as its new investment minister ahead of a global investment summit in London next week.
* SHELL: Shell SHEL.L on Thursday lost a bid to have U.S. regulators allow it to view nonpublic commissioning documents related to Venture Global LNG's Calcasieu Pass facility, a setback in a broader dispute over access to cargoes from the plant.
* OIL: Oil eased on Friday after a rally the previous day, but prices remained set for a second straight weekly gain as investors weighed the impact of hurricane damage on U.S. demand against any broad supply disruption if Israel attacks Iranian oil sites.
* METALS: Base metals prices rose on Friday, supported by a weaker U.S. dollar, although they were down on a weekly basis in London as a recent rally in prices hurt physical demand.
* GOLD: Gold prices climbed on Friday after recent data supported bets for a Federal Reserve interest rate cut next month, while market participants awaited the U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) report for further direction.
* The UK's main stock indexes slipped on Thursday as some of the companies traded without the entitlement of their dividend pay-outs, while GSK shares jumped following the settlement of its lawsuits in the United States.
