Oct 10 -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher, with futures FFIc1 up 0.29%.

* GSK: GSK GSK.L has agreed to pay up to $2.2 billion to settle most lawsuits in U.S. state courts claiming that a discontinued version of the heartburn drug Zantac caused cancer, the company announced on Wednesday.

* METALS: Copper prices rose in London on Thursday, rebounding from a two-week low hit in the previous session, as traders and investors awaited a China briefing later this week for more stimulus cues.

* OIL: Oil prices rose in early Asian trade on Thursday on concerns about potential supply disruptions in the Middle East, with Israel planning to strike oil-producer Iran, and on spikes in fuel demand as a major storm barreled into Florida.

* GOLD: Gold prices nudged higher on Thursday, while traders await a key U.S. inflation data due later in the day to gauge the Federal Reserve's future monetary policy stance.

* EX-DIVS: Tesco TSCO.L, WPP WPP.L, Taylor Wimpey TW.L, Kingfisher KGF.L will trade without entitlement to its latest dividend pay-out on Thursday.

* British equities mostly rebounded on Wednesday, with the biggest boost from the real estate sector, while homebuilders extended declines from the previous session after brokerages cut Vistry's target price.
