July 22 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Monday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.4%.


* RENTOKIL: Philip Jansen, former chief of BT Group BT.L, is working on a private equity-backed takeover bid for Rentokil Initial RTO.L, the Sunday Times reported.

* OIL: Oil prices rose in early trade as investors keep a lookout for signs of a rate-cut cycle expected to begin as soon as September.

* GOLD: Gold prices edged higher, aided by a softer dollar and expectations of a U.S. interest rate cut, while spotlight shifted to economic data for more clues on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy path.

* FTSE: London stocks finished the week lower amid a global cyber outage on Friday as investors assessed a fall in domestic retail sales in June, while commodity-linked stocks dropped, tracking declines in prices of copper, gold and other metals.
