Dec 12 (Reuters) -Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.12%.

* SHEIN IPO: Britain's financial regulator is taking longer than usual to approve fast-fashion retailer Shein's IPO because it is checking its supply chain oversight and assessing legal risks after an advocacy group for China's Uyghur population challenged the listing, according to two sources close to the matter.

* UK ENERGY: Britain's energy regulator Ofgem has proposed reforming how companies deal with customers who owe money and said they should offer tariffs free of some charges as household energy debts hit almost 4 billion pounds ($5.1 billion).

* UK PENSIONS: Britain's Financial Conduct Authority is promising millions of people help with their pensions under new proposals that include offering access to free, targeted support to allow consumers to make more informed decisions about their retirement.

* UK HOUSING: Britain's housing market strengthened further in November although uncertainty over the economic outlook could curtail activity in the months ahead, according to a survey from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

* UK PLANNING: Britain outlined details of an overhaul to its planning system to help boost growth and hit a target of 1.5 million new homes in the next five years, including ordering local authorities to build more houses.

* OIL: Oil prices were little changed in early Asian trade as forecasts of weak demand and a higher-than-expected rise in U.S. gasoline and distillate inventories stemmed gains from an additional round of European Union sanctions that threatened Russian oil flows.

* GOLD: Gold slipped as investors booked profits after prices hit more than one-month high earlier in the day on increased expectations of an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve next week.

* METALS: London copper prices nudged higher amid expectation of stimulus measures from top consumer China in the wake of the recent announcement that policymakers would do more for the economy.

* FTSE 100: Britain's FTSE 100 index nudged higher on Wednesday, led by precious metal miners, after the U.S. inflation print came in line with expectations, boosting the likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate cut next week.
