Turkey - Factors To Watch on Nov 28
ISTANBUL, Nov 28 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 34.6200-34.6700 against the U.S. dollar at 0407 GMT, compared with a close of 34.6400 on Wednesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.04% higher at 9,639.77 points on Wednesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian shares were subdued on Thursday and the dollar was on the defensive after U.S. data showed progress in slowing inflation had stalled even as the economy remained resilient, raising doubt over the path the Federal Reserve could take next year.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will host Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq al-Said for talks in Ankara. (1300 GMT) They will hold a joint news conference afterwards. (1445 GMT)
FOREIGN TRADE DATA TRTRD=ECI
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce October foreign trade statistics. (0700 GMT)
ECONOMIC CONFIDENCE INDEX TRECON=ECI
The Turkish Statistical Institute will also release the economic confidence index for November. (1000)
CENTRAL BANK MINUTES TRINT=ECI
The Central Bank will announce the minutes of last week's Monetary Policy Committee meeting, where it left its key interest rate on hold. (1100 GMT)
CENTRAL BANK DATA TRNFR=ECI
The Central Bank will also release its weekly data, including on foreign reserves. (1130 GMT)
VICE PRESIDENT
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will attend a meeting of the Turkey Geographic Information System board. (1100 GMT)
TALKS ON NEW CONSTITUTION
Hayati Yazici, a deputy chairman of Erdogan's ruling AK Party, will meet representatives of professional organisations, unions and civil society groups within the scope of the "new constitution workshops". (1130 GMT)
PARLIAMENT
Parliament's planning and budget committee will debate the Justice Ministry budget for 2025. (0700 GMT)
