Turkey - Factors To Watch on Nov. 22
ANKARA, Nov 22 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 34.5000-34.5650 against the U.S. dollar at 0430 GMT, after closing at 34.4700 on Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 3.72% higher at 9,367.77 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Gold was headed for its largest weekly gain in nearly eight months on Friday and the euro hovered at a 13-month low as Russia lowered its threshold for using nuclear weapons and fired a hypersonic ballistic missile at Ukraine.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan, along with Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, will attend Istanbul Energy Forum organised by Anadolu Agency (1100 GMT).
TRANSPORT MINISTER
Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu will meet Greece's shipping minister Christos Stylianides in Istanbul (1230 GMT).
BUDGET DISCUSSIONS
Parliament's planning and budget commission will debate culture and tourism ministry's 2025 budget (0700 GMT).
OPPOSITION
Main opposition CHP leader Ozgur Ozel will chair a party assembly meeting and then will attend a court hearing in support of former CHP leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu who will be on trial for insulting President Tayyip Erdogan (0700/1100 GMT).
FOREIGN ARRIVALS TRTARR=ECI
The Tourism will release foreign arrivals data for October (0800 GMT).
CENTRAL BANK POLICY RATE
Turkey's central bank held its policy rate steady at 50% on Thursday, as expected, and said it remained attentive to inflation risks, while analysts said its comments opened the way for a possible rate cut next month.
RESERVE REQUIREMENT RATIOS
The Turkish Central Bank said early Friday it had raised reserve requirement ratios for short-term lira deposits to 17% from 15% in line with its macroprudential framework.
