ANKARA, Nov 14 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 34.3525 against the U.S. dollar at 0454 GMT, from 34.55 at its close on Wednesday.

The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.80% higher at 9,300.30 points on Wednesday.


GLOBAL MARKETS

Weak China markets dragged broader Asian shares lower on Thursday, while longer-dated U.S. bond yields rose alongside the dollar as investors assessed the monetary policy and inflation outlook in the world's largest economy.


ERDOGAN PROGRAMME

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will host Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Ankara. The two will hold a bilateral meeting (1115 GMT), before chairing the tenth meeting of the Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee (1215 GMT). They will then attend a ceremony for the signing of various accords (1315 GMT).


VICE PRESIDENT

Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will meet Ersin Tatar, the leader of the breakaway Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, in Nicosia. They will attend the opening of a military hospital and a reception in the evening.


BUDGET

Parliament's planning and budget commission will discuss the 2025 budget of the Education Ministry. (0700 GMT)


CENBANK DATA

The Central Bank will release its weekly money and banking statistics.(1130 GMT)


TURKEY-U.S. TIES

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said he hopes U.S. President-elect Donald Trump would take a different approach on the Middle East during his term, but that some of the messages coming from his side were concerning, broadcaster NTV reported on Wednesday.


SYRIA NORMALISATION

Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan said he still hopes meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to repair ties with the neighbouring country, broadcaster CNN Turk reported on Wednesday.


TECHNOLOGY COOPERATION WITH MUSK

President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey could take joint steps with Elon Musk on technology if opportunities for cooperation in that field arise, broadcaster TRT Haber reported on Wednesday.
