ANKARA, July 5 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 32.6395 against the U.S. dollar at 0425 GMT, weakening from a close of 32.58 on Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.78% higher at 10,872.56 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian share markets scaled new highs on Friday as investors sized up U.S. rate cuts for September and the mood was upbeat, while the euro hit a three-week peak ahead of French elections.
CENTRAL BANK GOVERNOR
Turkey's central bank is determined to combat soaring prices and will stick patiently to its tight policy stance, Governor Fatih Karahan told Reuters, as a series of aggressive rate hikes start to bring down sky-high inflation.
TURKEY-CHINA
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan told his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Thursday that he wanted steps to improve Turkey-China ties in all areas to continue, Turkey's presidency said, adding he believed this would benefit both countries.
GOAL CELEBRATION DISPUTE
Germany summoned Turkey's ambassador on Thursday over a Turkish football player's ultra-nationalist "wolf salute" at a Euro 2024 match, days ahead of a reported trip by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to Berlin to attend his nation's next match.
TRANSPORT MINISTER
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu will hold a press conference in Ankara regarding the launch of Turkey's Turksat 6A satellite. (1200 GMT)
