ISTANBUL, Dec 12 (Reuters) -Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Thursday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 34.8425-34.8990 against the U.S. dollar at 0405 GMT, after closing at 34.8675 on Wednesday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.40% lower at 10,058,47 points on Wednesday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks gained on Thursday, tracking Wall Street's tech-led rally overnight after an as-expected reading of U.S. consumer inflation cemented bets for a Federal Reserve interest-rate cut next week.
ERDOGAN SCHEDULE
President Tayyip Erdogan will hold talks with the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban (1100 GMT) and President Tamas Sulyok (1400 GMT) at the presidential palace.
CURRENT ACCOUNT DATA TRCURA=ECI
The Central Bank will announce current account data for October (0700 GMT).
CENTRAL BANK WEEKLY DATA TRNFR=ECI
The Central Bank will release its weekly money and banking statistics, including on forex reserves. (1130 GMT)
SOMALIA AND ETHIOPIA
Somalia and Ethiopia, the two Horn of Africa neighbours at odds over the breakaway Somaliland region, have agreed on a joint declaration to resolve their dispute, President Erdogan said late on Thursday.
BUDGET DEBATES
Parliament's general assembly will discuss the 2025 budgets of the Industry and Technology Ministry and the Environment Ministry. (0800 GMT)
CAMBODIAN VISIT
Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will meet with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen and they will hold a joint press conference. (0830 GMT)
MAIN OPPOSITION PARTY
Ozgur Ozel, leader of the main opposition CHP, and Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu will attend a mass groundbreaking ceremony in the city. (0800 GMT)
TUSIAD BUSINESS ASSOCIATION
The TUSIAD business association will hold a meeting of its High Advisory Council in Ankara. (0630)
