Street View: Kraft Heinz's US retail problems continue
** Kraft Heinz KHC.O on Wednesday tempered its annual forecasts for organic sales and profit as repeated price hikes hurt demand for the packaged food giant's branded products such as Lunchables meal kits
** The Jell-O maker also posted a bigger-than-expected drop in Q3 revenue
LUNCHABLES HEADWINDS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE
** Piper Sandler ("overweight", PT: $40) headwinds from the Lunchables segment - with private labels gaining share - and ingredient shortage are expected to continue in Q4 2024; adds growth in co's key segment, retail, remains pressured
** Stifel ("hold", PT: $35) expects a decline in organic sales for the fourth quarter due to the elongated recovery for U.S. retail, largely due to Lunchables
** TD Cowen ("hold", PT: $34) says it continues to view KHC's portfolio itself as the biggest culprit, due to high exposure to private label, commoditization and inability to stretch into premium offerings
** Jefferies("hold", PT: $34) notes further reinvestment into KHC's portfolio to drive improving volumes is likely to ease grocery-budget pressures on co's core consumers
