Adds comments on sugar, coffee; updates prices

NEW YORK, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Robusta coffee futures closed more than 3% down on Tuesday, erasing most of the prior session's gains, with the strong pace of exports from Brazil weighing on prices.

COFFEE

* November robusta coffee LRCc2 settled down $172, or 3.9%, at $4,187 a metric ton.

* Dealers said the strongpace of robusta coffee exports from Brazil was helping to offsettightness in the availability of supplies from Vietnam.

* Brazilian robusta coffee exports in July were up 82.2% from a year earlier, at 900,000 60-kg bags, industry group Cecafe said on Monday.

* December arabica coffee KCc2 fell 4%, at $2.2905 per lb.

* For a second day, there were reports of light and very localized frosts in Brazil, but the occurrence was more intense in the southern part of the country, basically sparing coffee and sugarcane areas from damage, agronomists said on Tuesday.

COCOA

* December New York cocoa CCc2 settled up $99, or 1.4%, to $7,051 a ton.

* Dealers said the market derived some support from hot, dry weather in Ghana, although conditions in top grower Ivory Coast remained generally favourable for the next main crop.

* December London cocoa LCCc2 rose 0.3%, to 5,402 pounds per ton.

SUGAR

* October raw sugar SBc1 settled up 0.1 cent, or 0.5%, at 18.39 cents per lb.

* Dealers said data from industry group Unica on cane and sugar production in the key Centre-South region of Brazil was broadly in line with expectations, although yields on sugarcane were falling.

* Sugar production totaled 3.61 million metric tons in the second half of July, a 2.16% drop on a yearly basis, while agricultural yields for sugarcane declined 10%.

* October white sugar LSUc1 rose 0.7%, at $523.10 a ton.
