Adds comments and closing prices

NEW YORK, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Raw sugar futures fell to the lowest levels in nearly two years on Tuesday, weighed down by fund selling, while robusta coffee prices hit a one-month high.

SUGAR

* October raw sugar SBc1 settled down 0.45 cent, or 2.5%, at 17.57 cents per lb, the weakest level since October 2022.

* Dealers said concerns about sluggish demand from China, one of the world's largest sugar importers, and recent weakness in crude oil prices helped to exert downward pressure on prices.

* Dry weather in Brazil will boost outright production as it speeds up harvesting, despite posing a risk for yields at the end of the crop, they said.

* The USDA raised its projection for Egypt's sugar imports as local production failed to grow.

* October white sugar LSUc1 fell 2.2% to $502.50 a metric ton.

COFFEE

* November robusta coffee LRCc2 settled up $143, or 3.2%, at $4,619 a ton after setting a one-month peak of $4,656.

* Dealers said exports from Vietnamremain slow, while there was talk that farmers in Indonesia were holding onto stocks in the hope that prices may rise further.

* December arabica coffee KCc2 rose 1.7% to $2.485 per lb boosted by concern that further dry weather in Brazil could stress trees and have an adverse impact on the flowering of the 2025/26 crop.

* "The persistent dry weather in the arabica coffee regions is raising concerns about the productive potential of the next crop, especially if the rains are delayed," said Guilherme Morya, coffee analyst at Rabobank.

COCOA

* December New York cocoa CCc2 settled up $302, or 4.1%, to $7,640 a ton.

* Dealers said the market was keeping a close watch on the weather in West Africa ahead of the next main crop which is due to start in October.

* Above average rains boosted the development of the October to March main crop in most of Ivory Coast's main cocoa growing regions last week although cooler temperatures raised some concerns.

* Ghana's cocoa regulator Cocobod will not raise a syndicated loan for its 2024/25 cocoa season for the first time in over three decades.

* December London cocoa LCCc2 rose 0.9% to 5,514 pounds per ton.
