ARMY
The Operational Commander of the Armed Forces General Maciej Klisz said that Poland should accelerate the process of buying arms and assessed the risk of nuclear weapons being used as low, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
JUSTICE
Justice Minister Adam Bodnar has presented an action plan for the next two years to improve courts, which includes reforming experts and increasing compensation for excessively long proceedings, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
FINANCIAL CRIME
In the first half of 2024, financial criminals stole 323 million zlotys ($77.83 million) from customers of Polish banks, with the bulk of this sum attributable to frauds carried out through transfers and banks recording as many as 30,700 such operations, Puls Biznesu daily reported, citing data from the National Bank of Poland (NBP).
CYBERCRIME
Microsoft's latest report shows that Poland ranks third in Europe after Ukraine and the United Kingdom and ninth in the world in terms of exposure to hacker attacks, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
NORTHERN EUROPE
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will attend a summit of Scandinavian and Baltic leaders in Sweden, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
WIND POWER
The Council of Ministers is accelerating work on increasing the capacity of electricity production from onshore and offshore wind, with the key bill being that liberalizing the location of onshore wind farms.
REAL ESTATE
There are more and more apartments on the market, in some cities, developers offerings have even doubled and prices per square metre are also falling and are expected to do even more next year, Gazeta Wyborcza daily reported.
