Nasdaq jumps more than 1% as tech-related shares gain

NASDAQ JUMPS MORE THAN 1% AS TECH-RELATED SHARES GAIN
The Nasdaq .IXIC registered a record closing high on Monday, rising more than 1%, and the S&P 500 .SPX also gained as tech-related stocks led the way higher.
The Dow .DJI finished lower, its eighth decline in a row, matching an eight-day run of losses from June 2018.
Consumer discretionary .SPLRCD, communication services .SPLRCL and technology .SPLRCT sectors were the day's top sector performers for the S&P 500, with the technology and discretionary indexes also posting record closing highs.
Still, investors are anxious to hear the Federal Reserve's announcement on Wednesday. Traders are pricing in a roughly 95% chance of a 25 basis point rate reduction, according to the CME's FedWatch Tool.
Cryptocurrency stocks were higher as bitcoin BTC= rose above $107,000, extending its recent rally. Shares of Coinbase Global COIN.O were up 1.5%.
