LUXURY AND MINERS LIFT EUROPE

The STOXX 600 .STOXX is up 0.3%, set to close the week with a modest gain of 0.6%.

China-exposed markets segments are doing well, even after data showed China's economy grew at the slowest pace since early 2023 in the third quarter. Markets are also digesting U.S. retail sales data released on Thursday as well as the latest ECB rate cut.

Luxury names are getting a boost, with the basket .STXLUXP rising about 1.7% as Burberry BRBY.L and Moncler .MONC.MI appear near the top of the index adding over 3.4% a piece.

Miners .SXPP are also providing a lift, up 1.9% led by likes of Antofagasta ANTO.L and Anglo American AAL.L. both up 2.3%-2.5%.

The best performing sector is tech .SX8P, up 2.1% thanks to Europe's overall top riser- Switzerland's Comet Holding COTNE.S, which is up 6.4% after Q3 results.

Finland-based telecoms company Elisa is at the bottom of the index after quarterly earnings, falling 6%.

In the UK, British publishing firm Future FUTR.L is the biggest laggard, off 11.9% after its CEO resigned.
