Kazakh central bank expected to hold key rate on Friday
Open poll data
ALMATY, Nov 28 (Reuters) -Kazakhstan's central bank is likely to keep its benchmark interest rate KZCBIR=ECI unchanged at 14.25% at its meeting on Friday, a Reuters poll showed on Thursday.
All 11 analysts polled this week said they expected the bank to hold the rate, which it last cut in July by 25 basis points.
Inflation in the Central Asian nation picked up to 8.5% in October from 8.3% in September and the local tenge KZT= currency plunged to an all-time low this week, tracking the Russian rouble.
"Taking into account the acceleration of inflation, the central bank is more likely to keep the rate at the current level, which is generally appropriate amid the continuing fiscal stimulus, the weakening of the tenge, and the growth of state-regulated prices," analysts at the Halyk Finance brokerage said.
