John Boyega poses on beach as Pirelli calendar revisits roots
LONDON, Nov 12 (Reuters) -Actors Simone Ashley and John Boyega are among the famous faces featuring in the 2025 Pirelli calendar, which photographer Ethan James Green said goes back to the publication’s roots with scantily dressed celebrities.
Called "Refresh and Reveal", the 51st edition of the calendar features celebrities on the beach as well as in the studio.
"It's exciting to be able to revisit nudity, sexy in photographs just because the world has ... changed a lot ... and our idea of beauty has become so much more expansive and exciting," Green, who himself posed nude for a self-portrait in the calendar, told Reuters.
"Working with (stylist) Tonne (Goodman), we have a way that we work that the subject always needs to be comfortable and we want them involved in the process."
The Pirelli calendar was first published in the 1960s with a limited run and has usually been gifted to the Italian tyre maker’s clients.
In recent years, it moved away from featuring images of barely dressed models to more artistic themes, featuring various celebrities.
Other famous faces photographed for the 2025 edition include actors Hunter Schafer, Jodie Turner-Smith and Vincent Cassel.
