POLITICS
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday she plans to visit Lebanon on Oct. 18, just days after Israeli forces attacked U.N. bases in the country, drawing anger from many EU capitals, including Rome.

ISTAT releases September CPI final data (0800 GMT).
COMPANIES
BANKS, INSURERS
Italy's government plans to raise 3.5 billion euros ($3.81 billion) from domestic banks and insurers as part of its budget plans, Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said on Tuesday.
The budget for 2025 includes measures worth around 30 billion euros including tax cuts and welfare measures, the Treasury said separately.

The Italian luxury group said on Tuesday that operating profit this year would be at the lowest end of current analyst estimates after revenues fell 7.2% at constant exchange rates in the third quarter, hit by weak demand in Asia.
POSTE ITALIANE PST.MI
Blackrock BLK.N is not involved in government plans to sell a stake in the postal service, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Tuesday, denying press reports on the issue.

The president of Carifirenze banking foundation said in an interview to La Repubblica daily that he was very satisfied with the 1.8% stake held by the foundation in Intesa, voicing deep trust in Carlo Messina, the CEO of Italy's biggest bank.

The Italian defence company has started due diligence on Italy's Deas and Britain's Becrypt and Adarga as possible M&A targets, Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Wednesday.
The group is also considering several strategic joint ventures with large consulting and digital groups, including Engineering, Reply, Accenture, Tim, Pwc, Google and Microsoft, the paper added.

The car maker said on Wednesday it expected a 20% yearly drop in consolidated shipments in the third quarter to 1.15 million units globally. That's a steeper drop than the forecast 15% underlying sales decline, due to portfolio transitions and dealer inventory reduction initiatives.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the car maker is planning to make ram pickups in Mexico.

The Italian fashion group said on Tuesday it had appointed Lorenzo Serafini as the new creative director of its Alberta Ferretti brand, which will incorporate the Philosophy brand headed until now by Serafini.
DIGITAL VALUE DGV.MI, OLIDATA OLI.MI
Shares in Digital Data and Olidata closed with double-digit declines on Tuesday after the heads of the two companies were under investigation in a bribery probe, according to legal documents reviewed by Reuters.
Italy's bourse said that no orders without price limits would be allowed on the shares of the two companies starting from Oct. 16, pending further notice.
