POLITICS
Italy's 5-Star Movement severed ties on Sunday with its co-founder, the comedian Beppe Grillo, a further step in turning what was once a radical protest movement into a more mainstream left-leaning force.
ECONOMY
Italy's high borrowing costs and weakening economic growth could reduce the profitability of its companies in the near future, especially those with a high debt load, the Bank of Italy said on Friday
DEBT
Credit ratings agency Moody's said on Friday it had completed its periodic review of Italy but did not announce any change to its rating of Baa3 with a stable outlook.
The Italian Treasury said on Friday it would sell 7.5 billion euros of 6-month BOT bills on Nov. 27.
On Monday the Treasury will announce the sale of BTP and CCTeu bonds, with relative amounts to be auctioned on Nov. 28.
COMPANIES

The country's second-largest lender on Monday launched a surprise all-share offer worth 10 billion euros ($11 billion) for smaller domestic rival Banco BPM , while it also pursuing a potential deal with Germany's Commerzbank.

German Finance Minister Joerg Kukies said on Sunday he did not expect UniCredit to go ahead with plans for a takeover of Germany's Commerzbank CBKG.DE due to the objections raised by the government in Berlin.
BANKS
The Bank of Italy on Friday setthe 2025 capital buffers for the seven lenders classed as "Other Systemically Important Institutions" (O-SIIs) in the country. The buffer was unchanged from 2024 for Intesa Sanpaolo ISP.MI, UniCredit CRDI.MI and Banco BPM BAMI.MI, while it doubled to 0.25% for BPER EMII.MI, Mediobanca MDBI.MI, ICCREA and BNL.

The steel pipe maker said on Friday it had crossed a 5% threshold of ownership of its own shares as part of its buyback programmes.
JUVENTUS JUVE.MI
AC Milan and Juventus played out a 0-0 draw in their Serie A meeting at the San Siro on Saturday.
