Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni suffered a rare electoral setback on Monday when her conservative coalition lost control of one region and lost ground in another that was already a centre-left stronghold.

ECONOMY

Bank of Italy releases September data on foreign investors holdings of Italian government bonds.


COMPANIES

STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

CEO Carlos Tavares said on Monday that there was still work to be done on improving capacity utilisation in Europe, speaking to reporters during a visit to one of the automakers' factories in France. He added that the succession process for his CEO job would begin by the end of the year and last throughout 2025.

(*) The group will adapt to changes in the U.S. car market expected under a Trump government, with a platform that can offer electric, hybrid or gasoline versions of its models, Tavares also said.


TERNA TRN.MI

The Italian power grid operator said on Monday it had completed the third closing for the sale of its South American power transmission activities to the global investment group CDPQ, for an equity value of about 79 million euros.

A draft law which will set out rules for production of nuclear energy in Italy and allow the construction of advanced nuclear reactors will be presented in mid-December and examined by parliament in January, Il Giornale reported on Tuesday. Energy groups Enel ENEI.MI and Ansaldo and defence group Leonardo LDOF.MI have already expressed interest in setting up a state-backed company to build nuclear reactors in Italy.
