POLITICS
President Sergio Mattarella told Elon Musk on Wednesday not to interfere in Italian affairs after the U.S. billionaire said Rome judges blocking a government anti-immigration initiative should be sent packing.
COMPANIES
MONTE DEI PASCHI BMPS.MI, BANCO BPM BAMI.MI, ANIMA HOLDING ANIM.MI
Italy on Wednesday raised 1.1 billion euros ($1.16 billion) by selling 15% of bailed-out bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena, bringing on board rival Banco BPM as a shareholder with a 5% stake.
Fund manager Anima Holding, for which Banco BPM last week launched a buyout offer, bought a 3% stake. Businessman Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone, a shareholder in both Banco BPM and Anima, also invested in MPS with a 3.5% stake, a source familiar with the matter said.
With the sale, Italy's Treasury will reduce state ownership of MPS to 11.7% from 26.7%.
TELECOM ITALIA TLIT.MI
Italy's biggest telecoms group aid on Wednesday it remained on track to meet its earnings and debt targets following the sale of its fixed-line access network as it reported a 7.6% rise in core profit in the third quarter.
It holds conference call on Q3 results (1000 GMT).
PIRELLI PIRC.MI
Through his holding company Camfin, Marco Tronchetti Provera has raised his stake in the Italian tyremaker to just over 26% after three recent purchases totalling 4 million shares, or 0.4% of the capital, a bourse filing showed on Wednesday.
CREDEM EMBI.MI
The Italian bank and France's Worldline WLN.PA announced on Wednesday a long-term partnership in collecting payments for retailers in Italy.
LEONARDO LDOF.MI
Turboprop maker ATR, co-owned by Leonardo and Airbus AIR.PA, said on Wednesday it was stopping development of its short take-off and landing variant, the ATR 42-600S, following an extensive market review and lingering supply chain tensions.
MAIRE MTCM.MI
The engineering company said on Wednesday that Yousef Al Nowais had bought a 5% stake in its subsidiary Nextchem, valuing it at 1.25 billion euros ($1.33 billion), in a move aimed at bolstering its presence in the Middle East.

Rome, Assicurazioni Generali GASI.MI Italian CEO Gianfranco Fancel and other representatives address Chamber of Deputies on the survey on financial investments and the composition of the assets of social security institutions and pension funds also in relation to the development of the financial market and the contribution made to the growth of the real economy (0730 GMT).
Rome, Bank of Italy, European Central Bank and World Bank hold 3rd edition of joint conference "Trade, value chains and financial linkages in the global economy" (to Nov. 15).
