A Rome court on Monday asked EU judges to weigh in on the detention of sea migrants in Albania, again frustrating the Italian right-wing government's efforts to pursue its flagship plan to crackdown on irregular arrivals.


ECONOMY

Bank of Italy releases September data on Italian residents deposits with domestic banks, banks lending to non-financial companies and gross bad loans at Italian banks.

(*) Italy's Treasury said late on Monday it sent to the European Commission the package of remedies needed to secure EU antitrust approval for the tie-up between ITA Airways and Germany's Lufthansa LKHAG.DE.


DEBT

Treasury sells 7.5 billion euros 12-month BOT bills due Nov. 14, 2025 and 1.5 billion euros BOT bills due Jan. 14, 2025. Subscriptions close at 1000 GMT.


COMPANIES

IVECO IVG.MI, LEONARDO LDOF.MI

IDV, part of Iveco Group specialised in defence and civil protection equipment, has signed a preliminary agreement with Leonardo to supply functional parts for future contracts within the Leonardo and Rheinmetall joint venture.

IDV's participation will be 12% to 15% of the joint venture's total activities for the development and production of tracked combat ground vehicles for the Italian Army.


MEDIOBANCA MDBI.MI

(*) The bank posted a better-than-expected quarterly profit on Tuesday as net fees more than offset a small decline in net interest income (NII) due to lower interest rates.

MONCLER MONC.MI

The Italian maker of posh puffer jackets is not in talks to take over Burberry BRBY.L, four sources close to the matter said on Monday in response to a report by Britain's Mail on Sunday that a bid by Moncler was imminent.


DOVALUE DOVA.MI

(*) The Italian debt collector confirmed its 2024 guidance after posting an 0.7% rise in its gross book value at the end of September and an 18.3% fall in core profit for the first nine months of the year.

A2A A2.MI

(*) The country's biggest regional utility raised its 2024 core and net profit guidance for 2024 again after posting a rise of around 70% in nine-month net profit on Tuesday. The group

also increased the yearly growth of the dividend it will pay over its 2024-2035 industrial plan, to at least 4% from a previously proposed 3%.
