Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni criticised on Wednesday plans to share out the top jobs in EU institutions, saying they ignored the successes of rightwing parties at this month's European Parliament elections.


ECONOMY

ISTAT releases June consumer and business confidence data (0800 GMT); May producer prices data (0900 GMT).

ECB releases May data on Italian banks domestic government bond holdings (0800 GMT).

UNICREDIT CRDI.MI

BlackRock BLK.N rose to 7% of the lender's share capital after the cancellation of its own shares executed on Wednesday, the bank's website showed.


CAMPARI CPRI.MI

Milan prosecutors have opened a tax evasion investigation into the Luxembourg-based holding company that controls the Italian drinks group, sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Wednesday.

The Italian energy group said on Thursday it had signed a binding agreement to sell Nikaitchuq and Oooguruk upstream assets it owns in Alaska to U.S. private company Hilcorp. The value of the transaction will be announced at closing, it said.

Shareholders will consider after the summer options for the appointment of a new CEO after the sacking of Paolo Signorini following his arrest over a corruption case, the chairman of the Italian utility Luca Dal Fabbro sad in an interview with Il Sole 24 Ore daily published on Thursday.

Dal Fabbro also said that the company would be interested in assets that may have to be sold due to antitrust issues following the merger between rivals Italgas IG.MI and 2i Rete Gas.

He added that Iren's Egea deal was going better than expected and that the company could exercise its call option to buy the remaining 50% of the NewCo which includes Egea's activities in 2025.

The Italian eyewear maker broke off talks for the potential acquisition of an 83% share in rival Marcolin put up for sale by main shareholder PAI-Partners, considering the 1.3 billion euros asked by the French fund too high, according to MF daily.


ENEL ENEI.MI

The Italian utility said on Wednesday it had finalised a partnership with infrastructure group Sosteneo to develop battery energy storage systems. Sosteneo has purchased 49% of the share capital of Enel Libra Flexsys.


PRYSMIAN PRY.MI

The world's biggest cable maker said on Wednesday that Encore Wire's shareholders approved the acquisition announced in April, it will be effective as of July 2.
