Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy party voted against a second term for Ursula von der Leyen as president of the European Commission, a member of the group in the EU parliament said on Thursday.
DEBT
Bank of Italy to publish May data on foreign investors' holding of Italian government bonds.
COMPANIES

The auto maker said on Thursday it recalled about 24,000 ChryslerPacifica plug-in hybrid minivans worldwide because of fire risks, and urged owners to park outside, away from structures.

Stifel said on Friday it had cut the energy company's rating to "Hold" from "Buy", with a price target of 17.7 euros ($19.27) from 17.3 euros

UniCredit has initiated the placement of 14.7 million Nexi shares through an accelerated book building (ABB) process, representing approximately 1.1% of the capital. The placement is being made in order to hedge a long position on Nexi. According to Il Sole 24 Ore, the placement was launched at 5.735 euros per share.

The bank will launch a tender to select a new insurance partner, MF daily wrote on Friday, adding the tender will undoubtedly cover life insurance, but a bancassurance deal could also include a non-life insurance business.

Automation Systems said on Friday it bought a 61.2% stake - excluding Treasuy shares - in the plastics equipment maker and will launch a mandatory offer on the remaining capital at 14 euros per share. After the sale, the group will be delisted from the Euronext segment of the Milan Bourse.

The defence group expects to finalise a joint venture ith Germany's Rheinmetall RHMG.DE by September, while a contract with Italy's Defence Ministry could be sealed by the end of the year, CEO Roberto Cingolani said on Thursday.
ACEA ACE.MI, INTESA SANPAOLO ISP.MI
The utility and the lender said on Thursday they had joined forces to support investments in Italy's water sector. Intesa Sanpaolo is ready to offer advisory services and lend up to 20 billion euros to companies in the water business.
BPER BANCA EMII.MI
Italy's fourth largest bank said of Thursday it had picked former UniCredit executive Simone Marcucci as its new Chief Financial Officer.
